Lisa Bedford

Lisa Bedford, better known as The Survival Mom, is the founder of The Survival Mom blog, the Survival Mom Sisterhood membership community, and multiple online courses. A former classroom teacher and corporate trainer, Lisa also homeschooled her own two children from kindergarten through high school, both of whom turned out perfectly normal! When the Great Recession of 2009 hit her family’s construction business, she combined her teaching background and entrepreneurial spirit to launch The Survival Mom, now an international resource for millions of readers worldwide.

Lisa’s approach is practical and grounded in the common-sense wisdom of our grandmothers, because you just never know what tomorrow holds. She’s the author of Survival Mom: How to Prepare Your Family for Everyday Emergencies and Worst-Case Scenarios and Emergency Evacuations: Get out Fast When It Matters Most. She’s been featured in The New York Times, The Epoch Times, NPR, and BuzzFeed. When she’s not training women around the world inside the Sisterhood, you’ll find her traveling with her family, rescuing dogs, or putting in long hours in the garden.
